Fried
In our current society, we are being treated increasingly like machines. We aren’t robots, we don’t need a reminder of what to do, but how to do it in a human way. Instead of focusing on the what of tasks, this app focuses on the how, making the traditionally boring task list more personalized, fun, and approachable than ever before.

HOW CAN WE MAKE A HUMAN CENTERED PRODUCTIVITY APP?

Aesthetic Force
Minimal is not always better for presenting information. Studies show a funkier aesthetic might actually help the user understand and remember tasks better than a more streamlined design. Fried makes sure it stands out from the sleek productivity app majority, allowing for an interface that presents information that is retained, not lost in the vast ocean of minamalism. Playful visuals lead to powerful but human productivity.

Human Centered Task Hierarchy
Fried gives the user two simplified levels of hierarchy using the playful metaphor of a fried egg, “The Yolk” for most important tasks, and “The White”, for secondary tasks, Fried makes use of the two best ways to avoid procrastination and complete tasks most efficiently. Creating a system for setting clear and realistic goals for each day, users are much more likely to complete more tasks.

Positive Reappraisal
Task setting includes intentional positive reappraisal techniques. Both short term and long term gratification encourages user to complete the task and be more productive in the future. By crossing off more on their to do list, users will develope a more positive and capable mindset surrounding productivity, leading to getting even more done with minimal anxiety.

Empathetic Advertising
Fried engages with audiences with the concept that productivity can be hard! The name Fried referes to feeling burntout from working so hard. A stark contrast to the harsh tone of most productivity apps, which often take the “simply work harder or more effieciently” approach. Fried swims against the current and says what the user is actually thinking, “Man, I’m fried!” By making the user feel seen, heard, and understood, Fried gains trust in a human way.
